AEA Annual Conference and Exhibition 2012 Round-up

By Kelly Young
6 February 2012

Last week, the Queen's Suite of the Hilton Hotel in Blackpool played host to the AEA Annual Conference and Exhibition. Amongst the usual selection of software and print management companies, Shaw's took pride of place with their extended display of polling station equipment. Managing Director, Crispin Williams and Elections Administrator, Sarah Bruty were joined by consultants Philip Thompson and Dewi Williams and all enjoyed making and renewing acquaintances amongst the happy and hard-working band of professionals who are our country's election administrators. Shaw's stand featured their ever-popular practical products, including their renowned presiding officers' sundries packs and long-life folding ballot box. The 'Ecoflex' polling station sign provoked much interest, as did the new 'budget' wooden voting screen. Minister for Political and Constitutional Reform, Mark Harper MP, stopped for a lengthy chat at Shaw's stand and displayed a very impressive knowledge of the election process and interest in the products we had on offer.
