Sir David Attenborough Receives Freedom of the Borough

Shaw’s were recently delighted to be commissioned by the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames to provide a Freedom of the Borough scroll for presentation to one of the UK’s national treasures, Sir David Attenborough.

Working closely with the council, our Civic Ceremonial team incorporated subtle pictorial references to the heritage of the borough within the hand illuminated, leather backed portfolio style scroll. Encompassing traditional techniques and materials these beautiful pieces of history are the perfect way for any council to both recognise and reward outstanding and dedicated local individuals and regiments with connections in the area.

As you can see from the photograph, kindly supplied by the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, Sir David seems exceptionally happy to have been presented with his Freedom scroll.
