BOOKS

Shaw & Sons publish a list of over sixty books covering a wide range of subjects for professionals, at various depths from definitive loose-leaf works to simple quick-reference guides. These texts are predominantly for legal and local government professionals but also include topics for businesses and environmental agencies.

The two qualities that all books published by Shaws have in common are ease of use for the busy reader and value for money.

At the forefront of Shaw's books list are annual directories. These include the renowned Shaw's Directory of Courts in the United Kingdom. Shaw's Local Government Directory is the most comprehensive and best value reference work of its kind, and the Shaws line-up is completed with the Varsity Directory of Investigators and Process Servers and the "bible" of the probation service, the NAPO Probation Directory. Also featured here is the Police and Constabulary Almanac, published under the imprint of R. Hazell & Co.

An Unsolicited Testimonial

from Roger Bayliss of Roger Bayliss Professional Representation

After more than twenty years selling your books to shops, I am finally hanging up my boots. In that time, I have been agent for about twenty publishers, but Shaw & Sons is definitely our favourite client. You consistently produce books to a high editorial and production standard at a fair price. Your supply of advance information and your customer service are an example to other publishers.

I must also mention your packing, which is a source of wonder to the rest of the trade. As one bookseller told me, "Shaw's parcels are like blocks of wood. It seems a pity to have to open them!" I cannot recall Shaws ever delivering a damaged copy.

Note: Shaw & Sons will now be represented to the book trade by Sue Hall
